Remarks by President Kazuhito Komiya at the Signing Ceremony

Remarks by President Kazuhito Komiya at the Signing Ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding and Exchange Agreement between Chiba Institute of Technology and National Taipei University of Technology
7月5日/5 July Taipei, Taiwan
First of all, let me thank President Leehter Yao and everyone at National Taipei University of Technology for their warm hospitality.
I think, today is a significant day for Chiba Institute of Technology and National Taipei University of Technology. We are delighted that the NTUT and CIT have agreed to this Memorandum of Understanding and Exchange Agreement. My colleagues and I share the same feeling of excitement when we think of the wonderful possibilities as our two universities enter this historic partnership.
We are very aware of NTUT’s reputation of academic excellence and its strong commitment to create an even stronger international academic presence. Likewise, Chiba Institute of Technology, over the past seven decades, has earned its own place by providing the highest quality of education for our citizens, and many of whom hold leadership roles in Japan and around the world.
This century will present new and unknown challenges and opportunities. No single university, no matter how large or well endowed, can address future challenges by itself. Globalizations, interdependence, and cooperative partnerships with other institutions of academic excellence are not options, but necessities. Thus, I think, the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding between our two Universities will lead to many new joint research initiatives that produce new synergies, and add academic value for both NTUT and CIT.
I say again, I am much obliged to President Yao and everyone at National Taipei University of Technology.
Thank you very much.

(Following the remarks, he spontaneously delivered twenty minutes speeches to introduce the Chiba Institute of Technology.)
