Buildings are completed through the collaboration of architects and engineers of various fields, such as structure, building services, etc. For producing better buildings, it is required not only the advanced ability of engineers in various specialties but also an understanding of the uilding as a whole. Nowadays, society requires “the engineers who understand design,”and“ the architects who understand engineering.” The Department of Architecture offers a four-year curriculum in which various interrelated specialized subjects are organically structured around a core series of design subjects, supplemented with seminars of geotechnical, structural, environmental, and materials engineering. Students in the department will produce their own architectural works in order to experience and learn about the fusion of design and engineering.
