The risks confronted by companies are increasing year by year in a more complicated modern society. In order to run a company properly, it’s essential to be aware of such matters as what kinds of risks exist, and how much possible losses will be, and the ability to accurately assess risk and make appropriate management decisions becomes indispensable. On the other hand, a total negative attitude toward risks may interfere with the sound management of a company. The important thing is not to refuse risk altogether, but to correctly understand and properly control it. The Department of Risk Science in Finance and Management has set up a curriculum that fuses the liberal arts and sciences with a focus on the following four areas: finance, information, production, and daily life. We’ve also established an international course that allows students to take lectures at oversea universities.
