Undergraduate School
In addition to the basic engineering knowledge that engineering students
are expected to have, students at the Project Management department
study business administration, and acquire a high-level literacy of
computer and problem-solving skills from an administrative perspective.
The department was established in 1997 and offered the first course
teaching project management in a Japanese university.
With emphasis on a practical education to prepare students for careers
as project managers, we offer three course options: Project Engineering
Management, software/IS Project Management, and Project Business Management.
Students are expected to choose one as their major subject and the
other two as minor subjects depending on their career goals after
graduation. Students develop professional knowledge and the ability
to think by participating in case studies and small groups sessions,
and also acquire practical language and computer skills, as well as
an understanding of different cultures so that they can efficiently
manage international projects.
Graduate School
Management and System Engineering
The graduate school offers continuing education for undergraduate
students in Management Information Science and Project Management
but is designed to accept students from other departments as well.
The first half of the doctoral course offers instruction on fundamental
management engineering, production system engineering, management
system engineering, labor science and project management. Students
study management engineering of materials and intelligent production
processes, as well as an extensive range of knowledge on business
management to become the highly specialized professionals who can
build a variety of management systems, while having the creativity
and the initiative to develop new management techniques and academic
frameworks of management studies. An even greater level of expertise
is pursued during the second half of the doctoral course. |
