Undergraduate
School
Established in 1997, Japan's first Network Science department is designed
to produce network specialists equipped with the basic and applied
network technologies that are vital to the highly networked society
of the twenty-first century. The network-oriented curriculum is unique,
consisting of basic knowledge, information processing, network fundamentals,
network applications, and "kansei information." The department
has three educational goals: to produce researchers and engineers
in software, networking and computer graphics. Recognizing that our
mission is to supply talented software developers for the IT society,
much time is spent on students learning various programming languages.
In addition, classes are offered to produce engineers who can develop
and maintain networks for the IT society, as well as use the information
content from the viewpoint of kansei information.Ó This department
has excellent teaching staff members with extensive educational and
research backgrounds, as well as a global perspective, who provide
elaborate programs and teaching materials that prepare students for
the network society of the twenty-first century.
Graduate School
Computer Science
The doctoral course offers four areas of research: knowledge engineering,
information system engineering, network engineering and media information
science. The course not only offers theoretical knowledge of systems,
computer architecture, and software, it also addresses practical application
of such theories through acoustic information processing, image processing,
artificial intelligence, and robotics. |
