The Graduate School of Information and Computer Science offers education and research opportunities to further enhance expertise in information science for an increasingly globalized and information-oriented society. The school’s master’s program is designed to produce engineers and researchers with highly professional expertise that is useful in the industrial world, not limited to the information-processing arena of business. The doctoral program is designed to produce researchers who have the most advanced knowledge and skills in information science and are able to be leaders in pursuing pioneering academic research.

Master’s Program and Doctoral Program in Information and Computer Science

The program is founded on information engineering and information network studies, while offering education and research in a range of technical and applied fields. The content is varied, including basic topics and theories such as computer architecture, software, and computer networks. In order to address practical issues, the course also covers distributed and parallel processing, image processing, information and knowledge processing, media information processing, acoustic information processing, spoken language processing, robotics, information systems engineering, communications engineering, mobile radio communication, artificial intelligence, databases, media communications, cognitive psychology, and human interfaces. The course is unique in its participation in joint research and publication with other universities, research institutes, companies, and foreign countries in leading-edge technologies.
