Department of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering

Features

Electricity is indispensable in our daily lives. Electronics is essential in the traffic, communications and medical developments that support our comfortable lifestyle. Related technologies are the infrastructure of today’s industries. In response to the rapidly changing circumstances of today’s society, the industrial structure has been becoming increasingly complicated. Aiming to nurture creative and innovative engineers and researchers who can flexibly address such changes, this department teaches various fields from semiconductors, magnetic bodies and such electronic parts materials to communications, electric, control and information processing. Because human resources with knowledge and skills in electric and electronics fields are in high demand each year, graduates from the department will have a particular strength, which is an attraction of the department

Curriculum

Many students nowadays only look at the surface of things and do not try to look into inside. Despite excellent techniques, new creation requires the basics. Superficial techniques without basic knowledge do not lead to solutions. In particular, the electric industry requires basic knowledge and understanding. In this department, freshmen study mainly math and physics with an emphasis on acquiring the basics. Of the basic and core subjects, the most important subjects include practical training. At the end of the second year, students choose to concentrate in one of the Integrated System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering. According to the future occupation they want to pursue, they can choose subjects to take. Furthermore, seminars and graduation thesis-related research classes are provided, thereby nurturing independent thinkers with the ability to develop new knowledge and technologies.

Integrated System Engineering Course

Most recent electric equipment and devices are not derived from a sole technology. Multiple technologies are combined and integrated to produce most such products, and their performance has been increasingly higher. For instance, the smooth running of trains requires electricity, communications, information and system technologies. The aim of this course of study is to nurture engineers with application and development capabilities by integrating electrical and electronic information-related knowledge and technologies into systems.
