Human
and Social Sciences
We offer human and social science subjects so that engineering students
can develop a good sense of how human beings behave, a broadminded
way of thinking, and good judgement, which they will find to be essential
when they work as engineers or researchers in the future. These subjects
give students basic knowledge about human science, economics, sociology,
and law, which are required when working as members of society in
the real world. They are also expected to have an international perspective,
so English, German, French, and Chinese language education is offered.
Physical education is designed to develop the ability to control one's
body and mind.

Natural
science
Natural science education covers mathematics, physics, chemistry,
and information processing to reinforce basic knowledge of the natural
sciences and to foster a scientific way of thinking in preparation
for specialized engineering education during undergraduate and graduate
studies. Some of these subjects provide general information and others
are specifically geared to the respective departments of undergraduate
and graduate schools.
